Pinnacles Dive Center’s Rescue Diver Course with O2 Provider cert
Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem solving skills until they become second nature. Plus, the course is just fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning.
Advanced or Adventure Divers who are at least 12 years old and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive may enroll in a Rescue Diver course. You also need to have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You can complete this training during the Rescue Diver course. Your instructor will include the Dan Emergency Oxygen Provider certification course at the same time.
The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:
- Self rescue
- Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- Rescuing panicked divers
- Rescuing unresponsive divers
We require each student to be equipped with the following items:
Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Booties, Compass, Slate & Pocket Mask
You will need to have Regulator with Computer, Buoyancy Compensator, Tanks,
Wetsuit, Hood, Gloves and Weight for your dives, which are available for rental. While you are enrolled in any class at Pinnacles you will receive a special student rate for rentals. Rental package is about $100.00
By the first night of class, students must have read the Rescue Diver manual and completed all Knowledge Reviews.
Please review and complete the PADI Continuing Education Administrative Document, which we will email you. IMPORTANT: If you answer "yes" to any of the question on the Medical Statement, you must have a physician's release signed BOFORE starting class.
Classes begin promptly at their scheduled times. If it becomes necessary to miss a
session, make-up sessions can be scheduled with an instructor for an additional cost. A seven-day notice is required to cancel a class or tuition may be lost. Once a student has started the class, tuition is assumed earned weather the course is completed or not.
The classes are performance based. Signing up for a class doesn’t guarantee certification. Course performance requirements must be met.
